We caught up with Michael De Billot from Moda Studio Architects about one of the stunning homes just passed through the design review panel at Elaleni Coastal Forest Estate and is soon to break ground.
Creating spaces for all members of the family to interact as well as retreat remained at the forefront of our minds when it came to the design process of this stunning coastal home. Overlooking the infinity pool where the water kisses the sea view on the horizon, the home terraces down the natural gradient of the site and fits snugly into the surrounding landscape. Notable in this home is the ‘linear narrative’ or layout which was stretched the width of the site to ensure each room in the house became a sea-facing escape while below, the wind protected courtyard for the children to play in and the adults to enjoy became an integral design element.
